Spinnaker was bred in Holland by Brigit Vlaar, sired by my International Champion Xanthos Mondriaan SGWC out of her beautiful German Club & VDH Champion Goldstrike Wild Cherry. His first championship show was the most memorable Golden Retriever Club Centenary Show held July 2013. He was only 6 months old, and he had a ball. Within three months he had completed his Junior Warrant, then as we went in autumn and he changed his coat he was given a break from the show ring and taken along to shooting field where he proved to be a most promising candidate for the picking up team. Spinnaker has since then passed his Show Gundog Working Certificate with ease. Spinnaker has a current clear eye certificate including gonioscopy and is hereditary free of both PRA 1 & 2, DNA tested clear of ichthyosis and heart tested normal by a cardiologist. His hip score is 5:5, elbows 0:0 and with his gentle disposition he is confidently offered at stud to approved bitches. His first bitch a Ch Xanthos Espionage daughter, produced her litter of ten babies on the 5th May 2014
Spinnaker travelled down to Northern Italy in October 2015 to spend a couple of months with Giovanni Monteverde, one week after arriving he won his first CAC and CACIB well done to my boys! Spinnaker will be back at Blackthorns in January 2016 when I plan to mate him to Xanthos Nymphadora Tonks.
March 2017 Spinnaker went to Canada, within a short space of time he took his Canadian Champion title, quickly followed by his Canadian Grand Champion title. We are very proud of his achievements. Well done Spinn.
