Pet Identification
TATTOOING AND MICROCHIPPING
All Xanthos Goldens Retrievers are tattooed and microchipped. These forms of permanent identification deter dog thieves, enable lost and stolen dogs to be identified and quickly reunited with their owners when dog discs may have been lost.
My stud dogs and most of the bitches also have DNA profiles logged with the Kennel Club. The tattoo is used nationwide by the Police; the scheme is run by the National Dog Tattoo Register and is a non-profit making organisation founded by the German Shepherd Dog League of Great Britain. It is absolutely essential that any change of address or phone number is registered and will be done free of charge. Changes of owner are equally important and must be done in order for the scheme to work. This is currently done at a charge of £20 sent to the NDTR, P.O.Box 5720, HARWICH CO12 3SY email info@dog-register.co.uk phone 01255 552455.
