Xanthos Mondriaan
With the success of my handsome Espionage, I couldn’t resist the temptation to get another son from my beautiful Foreign Affaire so we made another visit to Mieke Gerritsen in Holland and this time used her young dog Sultan of Sand v.d. Beerse Hoeve. My new “Dutch” boy is named after the famous Dutch artist and so far shows the promise I am looking for. At 6 months and one week he went Best Puppy at Horsham and District Open Show, and then went into the big ring and came home with Gundog Puppy Group One!
The summer was then spent, casting his profuse puppy coat and growing into a big strong frame, and the autumn gave me the opportunity to introduce him to the shooting field, an experience he relished. He is a strong swimmer and natural retriever, with a good nose for injured game. His excellent health clearances have enabled him to join the stud team, and his first puppies have already shown great promise. Dutch came back into full coat for the start of 2010 feeling good and looking fit after his first season of work and thrilled his fans by winning his class at Crufts.
